Overview

Your circular route around the Eibsee begins directly at the large, elegant hotel. Follow the lakeside path past the Eibsee pavilion and hike leisurely towards the south shore.

The hiking trail leads you along the wooded shore, and with every step you take, you enjoy the magnificent view of the green-blue water and the mountains opposite.
You can also clearly see the small, forested islands left behind by the great landslide in the lake from the southern shore. The path climbs a little, but on the west bank, it leads directly down to the water again.

Here the Kotbach stream flows into the lake. Apart from the narrow stream, there is no upstream tributary. Interestingly, there is also no outflow from the lake.

You follow the hiking trail along the north shore, and here the Eibsee unfolds its dramatic beauty.

The Zugspitze massif towers mightily and awe-inspiringly into the sky above the southern shore of the lake.

This view is one of the most beautiful mountain panoramas in the entire Alpine region. The fabulous view continues to accompany you as you hike leisurely along the lakeside path back to the tour’s starting point. For families, it is worth making a detour to the Eibsee-Alm. The older hikers can enjoy a cup of coffee, while the younger hikers can play in the fantastic playground.
